Tag!

DSC03824 Studded leaves with pearls

Hello hello!

I was chatting with Karuna (hey there!) this morning. I was telling her how I don’t feel like making anything and BAAAM it hit me so hard, a light bulb moment and here I am sharing my light bulb moment creation with you… a tag.

DSC03819

I made this for a cute little studious girl. She is a very strong child. She was being bullied at her previous school, there were a couple of girls who kept calling her names; nerdy, geek and mostly bookworm. When the family found out they told her to stand up for herself. On her last day at school, when she was being called bookworm, she raised her finger and said “Call me..(pause) PRINCESS bookworm” ROFL!!! Her mother tells this story to everyone and anyone she can and at every chance she gets! Now that she has started her classes at a new school, this gift is a must!

Anyway…The flower was roughly drawn, cut, coloured with crayola (coral) and then embossed. This is a five layer flower.

DSC03825

I don't know if you can tell but the mint green pattern is an animal print and the pale coral one is houndstooth. These were actually one inch background tile images for web pages. I edited them in Photoshop, changed the size and colour and Voila we have pattern paper :P

DSC03826The butterfly is same as the last card, the only difference is that this one has a bit more shimmer. I placed a copper glitter ball as it’s head and the remaining body is made up of chunky glitter (ivory) both are from Pie Lane.

DSC03827 The sentiment is hand written and I have added tons of hand stitching on this one. The lace is distressed with Archival Ink (sepia).

Hope you like it! I think the colour story at PDCC is perfect for a princess!

Thank You

Hello everyone! It’s sooo windy here today, it was rather hard taking pictures of the card that I have to show you today.

I was browsing through challenge sites and saw the challenge at DYSU, which was “Thank you”. I remembered a card I made when I first received my embossing folders by the picture they have put up to depict their challenge. I thought I should revamp it. You can find the older card HERE, I was pretty untidy back then craft wise :)

My first time at:

DSC03775

It’s a fairly clean and simple card. I took a portion of the Thank You embossed panel for this card. Coloured over the embossed words with silver marker and also outlined the pink panel with the same.

The top white layer is embossed using sizzix texture plate “distressed”. Added a wee bit of lace to make it look more pretty and feminine. Few pearls were added to balance the whole look.

I like this card! So simple right?

Just wanted to remind you to play along my challenge at Yvonne’s blog HERE, there is a ribbon prize for the winner. You will also find my ribbon flower tutorial there. I will also be giving away today’s card along with the ribbon prize :)

Challenges: DYSU, CAS-ual FridaysDDH Challenges, PTW (free-embossing, ribbon, lace) , Kaboodle doodles, OLLCB, Catered Crop (pink, text/script, silver marker, ribbon, embossing ), Creative inspiration paints, Truly scrumptious

Ribbon Flower on a Starry Night

*SECOND post of the day. Don’t forget to COMMENT on the previous card, pretty please :)

DSC03754

Hello bloggers! I have another card based on the colour story at PDCC. I am so not liking that my posts are not showing on the dashboard :/ Most of you have missed my previous CASE Study card so do check it out and don't forget to comment!

DSC03750

The polka dotty ribbon flower is handmade (tutorial coming tomorrow) and the leaves are diecuts (CB), the butterfly was a black and white printout which I coloured with regular Faber Castell colour pencils.

I have dyed the blue paper and then painted over it to get the grungy, distressed look. After it was dry, I inked the edges with ColorBox queue black.

The Pie Lane glitter balls look like stars in the night sky! I should make a card with night sky and glitter balls as stars. *light bulb moment*

I have added pearls on the lace trim ( can’t do without pearls!).

I am loving this blue background!

leaving you today with this image… enjoy!

Gingerloft – Freebie Challenge

Hello everyone! Gingerloft is back in action! The Gingerloft team was taking a break and now we are back with a freebie challenge!

You can pick up the freebie from Gingerloft blog.

Here is what I came up with…

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't colour the image LOL so I thought of this… not colouring the image and using it as it is and printing it directly on Kraft cardstock.

I inked the edges with ColorBox queue Black ink and added faux stitching.

Okie dokie that's it for today… If you missed my yesterday’s PDCC card click HERE… I will be back tomorrow with another card!

Today I leave you with this. Enjoy!

Ooooh da budd-ah-flies…

DSC03729

Hello everyone… It’s our Independence day today and it started with a bang… thunderstorm; incredibly strong cool winds and COLD rain! Every thing on my roof, the garden chairs etc just flew away… my cats were so scared! Anyhoo, it was scary but I kinda liked the scary sounds the wind made and the cold rain…

I have a tag for you today and it is based on the PDCC colour story. This the second thing I made for my mum’s friend and it goes with the last card I posted. Her grandson saw the last card and was like “ooohhh da buddddahhflies” LOL I laughed out SO LOUD! Apparently he reads “the butterfly book” which is a kid’s guide to raising butterflies and he is raising DOOH (two) butterflies right now.

This tag has the same butterflies as the last card minus the layered scallops and wood grain texture.

DSC03727

The outer scallops and hand drawn and cut (you can see they are irregular). The butterflies are “coloured printouts” I just coloured over them. Everyone thought I have been colouring the butterflies from scratch… this is not the case… these are original butterfly pictures printed out…

The glitter balls and yellow self adhesive gems are from Pie Lane. The sentiment is from TradeFish Designs (the same one that I used on my last card).

I added a bit of faux stitching and lots of distressing to give it a finished look.

Alrighty, that’s it for today…  I leave you with this picture…

For the love of Butterflies

DSC03720

I thought I was going on a break! :/

My mum’s friend is leaving for London and she wants around 5-6 cards to take with her…  I TOLD my mum I am taking a break and she told her friend… but that lady wasn't listening to anyone… Anyway, I HAD to make her cards… here is the first of five based on the color story at PDCC.

Here’s my card…

DSC03708

The butterflies are printouts and I have coloured over the printout with Crayola markers.

I have used a piece of real wood scrapping/shaving and stamped on it. The sentiment stamp is from TradeFish Designs. The scallops are hand cut. I coloured the scallops with Crayola makers.

DSC03719

I have been asked many times which folder I use to make wood grain texture. I am sure most of you have this, it is CB’s Forest Branches and I use it horizontally to emboss and use the de-bossed part on the card.

Hope this is ok.

Hugs!

Erum

You + Me = We

DSC03676

Hello everyone… I have been MIA as it’s our Holy month of Ramadan… we fast from dawn till dusk… so the fasting pretty much sucks the energy out of you! Anyhoo, I had this idea in my head and just wanted to make something before it slipped from my mind. I took the colours from PDCC and sketch from Card Patterns.

DSC03677

The hearts and roughly hand drawn. The green paper is a digi-freebie and is pretty vibrant, doesn't show in pic though. The butterflies are from Pie Lane. These butterflies are basically stickers, I wanted a 3d look so placed the sticker on CS and fussy cut the butterflies… I added a tiny bit of blue chalk ink for sky…

The sentiment is from TradeFish Designs. The flowers are punched. That’s it!

I have another idea based on the same design… if I will be able to make another one, I will post it tomorrow… till then happy crafting people!

xoxo
