Verve Week 2

DSC04993

I have a card and a new to me technique to show you today. I used VLV sketch for week 2 this time.

DSC04992

Can you see my colourful background? I applied Versamark on an embossing folder and stamped it on to a white CS, applied clear embossing powder on it and then heat set it. After the CS cooled down I inked it with distress inks and removed the excess off with a damp tissue.

Close up what the background looks like:

Can you see the Cuttlebug embossing folder’s design? I didn’t apply a lot of pressure otherwise I would have gotten a solid damask design, but I like how delicate this one looks.

DSC04999

The flower is handmade, I used the Verve stamps gorgeous tissue wrapping paper to make this and some tulle.

DSC04994

A big chunk of ribbon that I added in place of a CS layer by adding ruffles just to give the card more texture.

That’s all for today.

Ciao!

Verve and Basic Grey

DSC04982

Hello all you creative people! We are still having a lot of power outages here but today the weather is incredibly beautiful. It’s something like right before rain (all cloudy gorgeousness) and cool winds too!

I was rummaging through this big box of goodies that I got from Stef when I started blogging, and found some Basic Grey papers. I thought I’d have a go at the Basic Grey challenge. I used the Verve sketch for week 1.

DSC04976

I added a bit of gold glitter on the Basic Grey paper pieces. All shapes are hand drawn, even the round corners so I apologize in advance if its a bit crooked. I am waiting for the chomper to go on sale at least then I can get good round corners.

The sentiment stamp is from Verve.

DSC04983 I added a wee bit of stitching and some gold glitter on it.

See you guys soon!

A PlayDate with Hero Arts

170620121305

Hello everyone! As I told you in the last post that it’s my first time playing for the Hero Arts monthly challenge, I wasn’t satisfied with my last card as it used only one sentiment stamp. I have another card for you today based on the colour story at PDCC, it features my only HA stamp apart from the sentiment stamps that I have.

00color story 136[1]   sketch170[1]

170620121294 Oh my god, never fussy cut this stamp like I have! LOL I cut all the way between the mini swirls! Oh, by the way I used my ever loyal Crayola markers to stamp these beauties! For the sentiment I used Chipped Sapphire and then outlined parts of “You” with a crayola to give it a 2D look.

170620121304

To make things a little more interesting I cut strips of blue CS, distressed the edges and glued them diagonally on a base cardstock. I added faux stitching to every alternate strip.

If you can see a bit of gloss on the butterfly… I used clear varnish (clear nail polish) on it, twice.

170620121302

The frame is hand cut, I added a bit of faux stitching here as well. Here is another view:

Thank you friends for all the love you have sent my way in form of comments and emails; it means so much that you think my work is worthy of your praise. Thank you!

Leave a comment and I will drop by your place soon!

Lia Stampz: Summer

130620121266 Hello people! This post is a little late as we didn’t have electricity since 11am today.. (it’s 11:30pm now and thank God the power is back on). Anyhoo, the challenge over at Lia Stampz this fortnight is “Summer” and here is my card…

130620121260

I am using “Lia Photograph” on my card today and the umbrella paper you see is also by Lia Stampz. This is a pre release so you wont find it in stores yet. The Polaroid thingy is hand cut.

130620121263

I embossed the pink CS and inked it with VersaMagic cloud white. The sentiment is handwritten.

130620121265 It’s been a while since I have played with so many layers but boy I had so much fun making this one!

I have been catching up on commenting on your blogs (talking to those who commented on the previous two posts), but the power breakdown/ feeder trips is making the process very slow. I promise, if we have electricity tomorrow, I will def stop by your blog.

much love,

~E

Sentimental Sundays: For a Special Guy (Father’s Day)

020620121212 Hello everyone! I am back with a brand new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays and this week the theme is, “For a special guy/ Father’s Day”. Our sponsor this time is Bugaboo Stamps and just like last week, we again have a bonus challenge for you if you choose to accept it, you can enter your creation twice!

020620121211

I have used “Monster Block” mini set for my card. I have coloured the images using Classic Faber Castell colour pencils. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. All square blocks are hand cut so they might look a bit irregular.

That’s it from my side, don’t forget to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog to check out what this week’s bonus challenge is!

This card looks so good in person! I made this for the last week’s CASE Study challenge but was a bit late in posting it.

I added a wee bit of doily to give it a lil extra touch and to enter this at the Moxie Fab doily/lace challenge. The alpha is hand drawn over some scrap cardboard, I coloured it in black and drew white dots. You will be seeing a lot of these alphas in the future because they look absolutely yummy in person!

Leave a comment and I will drop by your blog!
